112 and rising

When the temperatures rose last week,
Monday - 112
Tuesday - 112
Wednesday - 113
Thursday - 112
Friday - 112
and the weekend promised to be even hotter, I suggested to Phil that we go camping in the cooler mountains.

So on Friday we drove north of Payson and were setting up camp by 5:30. After dark, we changed to jeans and a sweatshirt and sat by the fire. Ahh!
In the morning, the air was fresh and we sat in our chairs savoring a cup of coffee (Phil) and tea (me). Ahh!
We then took a hike down to Kinder Crossing, walked in the cold stream water and even managed to take a plunge in a pool of water. The hike back out was a little rough though, with the temperatures climbing over 90.
It was good to get away for the weekend, even though it meant coming back to 115 degrees!
