Bathroom Remodel: Day 13

April 24, 2014 - Sometimes it's hard to tell what work was done during the day. Bit by bit, it's getting done.

Walls are texturized and ready to be painted by Phil this weekend. Paint color is Floating Feather (Dunn Edwards brand).

We are working on reconfiguring the living spaces. Checked out a new sofa today, so we'll see. I may not take any more pictures of the living room until we finish it.

Toilet is removed for ease of painting. A short wall was built this week next to the toilet for additional privacy.

Bathroom Remodel: Days 10-12

April 21-23, 2014 - Door installed, cabinets are in (but there is still work to be done on them). Insulation in the walls and finishing up the drywall.

Bathroom Remodel: Day 8

April 17, 2014 - I can't get into the bathroom. The new entry into the bathroom off the kitchen has a plastic covering (maybe there won't be as much dust), the former door has sheetrock, and there is a new door from the outside, but I can't open the door.

Bathroom Remodel: Days 6 & 7

April 15 & 16, 2014 - Andy, the electrician, worked on moving switches and outlets, and putting in canned lighting. Not exciting to take pictures of switches and outlets.

A light by the door, a light in the shower, a light by the laundry.

What the heck is that?!

Bathroom Remodel: Day 5

April 14, 2014 - You can start to see major changes.

The wall is cut in the kitchen where the new door is going in.

The old doors are removed and studs inserted.

The shower walls are framed in.

Bathroom Remodel: Day 4

April 13, 2014 - Joe, the plumber, arrived before 9:00 am and worked all day until 7:30 pm.  The main shut off valve is by the street; we don't have one by the house. When Joe went to turn the water back on, the valve broke. Phil called the City of Phoenix Water Dept. and they came out 30 minutes later. The valve was fixed in no time. Phew! Disaster averted.

Punching a hole through the wall to get at the plumbing for the washer outside. We'll have a door there eventually.

Drain for shower and shower floor completed.

A nice mess outside, but we are happy we can still use the washer and dryer.

Plumbing for shower and washer hookup inside. Joe made the height of the shower high enough to accommodate Phil's height. Nice!

Yesterday, Phil & I went to the Sears Outlet store and bought a stackable washer and dryer. It will be delivered on Tuesday.
