112 and rising

When the temperatures rose last week,
Monday - 112
Tuesday - 112
Wednesday - 113
Thursday - 112
Friday - 112
and the weekend promised to be even hotter, I suggested to Phil that we go camping in the cooler mountains.

So on Friday we drove north of Payson and were setting up camp by 5:30. After dark, we changed to jeans and a sweatshirt and sat by the fire. Ahh!
In the morning, the air was fresh and we sat in our chairs savoring a cup of coffee (Phil) and tea (me). Ahh!
We then took a hike down to Kinder Crossing, walked in the cold stream water and even managed to take a plunge in a pool of water. The hike back out was a little rough though, with the temperatures climbing over 90.
It was good to get away for the weekend, even though it meant coming back to 115 degrees!

Miriam's Move

Miriam flew to Portland last month, looking for a place to stay.
On Wednesday, we loaded up all her essential belongings into a trailer. Her friend, Andy, volunteered to help with the driving. She put her cat, Kage, in his carrier. And away she went.Next up: finding a job.
