Bathroom Remodel

May 15, 2014 - The shower door is installed and our bathroom is finished.

We need to "pretty" things up yet. Pictures to hang and rugs to purchase. Phil is still painting the rest of the rooms and we are still working on redecorating the other living spaces. When it's all finished, I'll take some more pictures. Don't hold your breath; it'll take a few more weeks.

Bathroom Remodel: Day 21

May 9, 2014 - the bathroom is almost done. Sears delivered the replacement washer and installed the washer and dryer in the bathroom. We are now waiting for the shower door. Phil needs to touch up some spots and paint the two doors. And that's it.

We decided not to add another door to the room to hide the washer/dryer. It becomes more of a utility room. 

I love how, even though, there is no window in the bathroom, it has soft diffused light without turning on the switch. The sky light is is proving to be the best feature.

It's too bad we had an issue with the washer, but on Friday the replacement will be delivered and we have a place for it.

Today they built a closet around the hot water heater. Now there are three doors right next to each other. But we no longer have the washer, dryer and hot water heater in plain sight.

Nice and tidy.

Bathroom Remodel: Day 19

We're not allowed in the bathroom until after 8pm, because another coat of sealer on the tile floor is drying. At least it drys fast in our hot, dry climate. But I took a look in the door, and this is what I saw:

The hardware is on the cabinets.

and the medicine cabinet is hung.

 

They added a skylight in the kitchen. Just love it. Nice natural light in a dark room.

They were going to install the new stackable washer and dryer, but when they opened up the boxes, they noticed a big scratch in the washer door. So we called Sears, and they will replace the washer on Friday. Too bad! We were hoping it would be finished in a couple more days.

April 30 - May 2, 2014

Tile is sealed and grouted on the floor and in the shower.

Light fixtures and electrical outlets are installed.

Phil is almost finished painting the fireplace room.
